Role Overview & Responsibilities
This role is responsible for designing and executing the integrated marketing, brand and communications strategy for NMG Botswana. Reporting to the CEO, the role is responsible for the strategic and tactical marketing elements, monitoring and maintaining brand consistency, market research and project development activities; increasing brand awareness; developing a reputable corporate image by developing and executing effective communication and media relations programmes among internal and external stakeholders; and directly managing internal and external communications service to enhance the image, reputation and brand. Key deliverables include:
- Developing and executing a marketing strategy that clearly provides direction on how the organization will realize it’s marketing ambitions as well as achieve sustainable competitive advantage.
- Developing and implementing a communications strategy and policy aimed at cultivating and enhancing meaningful relations with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Developing an internal communication plan to drive engagement, alignment and understanding of the NMG’s strategies and priorities.
- Developing a comprehensive external communications plan, aligned with the defined strategy that will enhance the image of NMG.
- Developing a brand awareness strategy
- Proactively engaging media to effectively manage the NMG image, reputation and brand.
- Planning and maintaining content management updates for high-impact digital experiences across the NMG online platforms, to build and maintain the reputation of NMG in a proactive and effective manner, and to enhance and protect its brand.
- Organic and paid content posting onto into digital platforms, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, website, etc.
- Creating and updating digital asset libraries, search engine optimisation and managing a consistent, purposeful, timely and relevant content pipeline.
- Working with the Information Technology team by supporting continued site improvement and ongoing e-business projects.
- Managing risk associated with digital platforms, by ensuring efficient and effective risk and compliance maintenance practices by adhering to required standards.
- Consistently collaborating with multiple business partners to foster synergies across departments, staying informed of industry trends surrounding content management and disseminating regular updates.
- Maintaining effective collaborative working relationships with all stakeholders, business partners and internal business teams.
- Staying knowledgeable about current trends in the content management space to enhance the Company’s image.
- Conducting surveys and monitoring the brand perception amongst the general public, clients and members.
- Executing media plans through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification.
- Managing corporate events and provide branding support for all internal and external activities.
- Developing a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy and policy to raise awareness of the community based social events to enhance the image and profile of NMG. Such activities should be conducted in line with the group-wide CSR strategy and policy.
- Preparing reports to the Executive Management team and Board on communication related issues.

Experience & Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing or in a related field.
- A Master’s degree in a business related filed will be advantageous.
- 10 years’ work experience in marketing or public relations or communications, with a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience in fund administration, insurance or financial sector industries is desirable.
