Monthly receipt, reconciling and investment of contributions for all members, including ensuring that contributions are paid in terms of the fund rules. Electronic receipt of payroll is done via SmartUpdate web portal where we work with the employer to map the payroll information to the web portal.
Arrange benefit payments to members, third parties and beneficiaries. Apply for tax directives, pay income tax due and issue tax certificates. Claims must be submitted electronically or uploaded on the web via the employer portal (SmartClaims). SMS technology is used to track claims. Benefits will be paid within the agreed.
Applying for and receiving Tax directive applications are done by the administration team. Taxes that are due are paid in terms of the Income Tax Act. The required returns are reconciled and submitted.
Maintain pensioner data. Issue pensioner identification cards. Process pension payments (including bonuses, increases and deductions) and issue tax certificates and pay slips. Liaise with, communicate with (including annual pension increase letter), arrange for tracing, and obtain updated contact details, spouse information and other information from pensioners. Handle annual certificate of existence exercise.
