Once transferred, benefits remain invested until the age of 45 (being the Early Retirement Age) or up to the age of 60 (being the Normal Retirement Age). The benefits will therefore be preserved until retirement, ensuring long-term protection of benefits.

The Board of Trustees of the NMG Administrators Botswana Preservation Fund is constituted in line with the requirements of the Retirement Funds Act. A Principal Officer is appointed to head the Fund.

These policy documents will be reviewed in line with the requirements of the Retirement Funds Act. The Board of the Preservation Fund will meet quarterly to review the business of the fund. Ad hoc meetings will take place from time to time when required.
The Preservation Fund will maintain risk controls and processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain the integrity of administration and information on its systems. Additionally, information will be provided to respond to any complaints, including complaints made to the Regulatory Authority, and a complaints register for complaints received by the Preservation Fund and its administrator will be maintained. A Complaints Management Policy has been prepared in this regard.
The NMG Preservation Fund has further appointed an administrator, external auditor, actuary, and investment managers.

NMG Administrators Botswana Preservation Fund ensures that long-term investment performance is optimized, with due regard to the various risks which the Fund is exposed to, including but not limited to the volatility of returns, the risk of capital loss, and the risk of negative real returns.
The Fund is invested in a global balanced Fund, a moderate risk solution which aims to achieve long-term capital and income growth, without exposing investors to a high level of market risk. The global balanced fund has exposure to the following main asset classes:
